School Secretary Maria Lance
I am honored to be principal of a school where a genuine love for children, high expectations, and student achievement are a priority. The staff at Butterworth Elementary is committed to helping each child reach his or her potential academically, socially and behaviorally.
You will find Butterworth Elementary School to be a very safe, welcoming and student-centered environment, where students can grow and learn. I am fortunate to have a staff that values this philosophy while also setting very high standards for student learning. We are a K-5 building with more than 300 students. Though we are a large school, we have maintained a family-like atmosphere and have continued to make outstanding academic achievements.
We recognize that parents are our students' first and best teachers. We encourage our parents to be active partners in the school, ensuring the success of their children. We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization, many opportunities to volunteer in the school and classrooms, and the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program. All provide many opportunities to get involved. Additionally, we typically have wonderful attendance at Parent-Teacher conferences illustrating that parents are also committed to helping us achieve our mission of student success.
I would like to encourage you to explore our district's website to learn more about our curriculum, staff, programs, activities and classrooms. We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff and we hope you enjoy your time at Butterworth Elementary.
-Mr. Chris Lensing
