Moline Council for the Gifted (MCG)
Philosophy
The Moline Council for the Gifted is a non-profit organization, which began in 1984, with the intent to help high-ability students within Moline School District No. 40.
The Moline Council for the Gifted consists of parents and educators working together to provide educational enrichments and accelerations which are appropriate for the individual gifted child. Enrichments are intended to enlighten the students and broaden their understanding and knowledge. Accelerations are designed to accommodate the advanced capacities of students.
Principles
MCG believes there is a shared responsibility toward making an environment where the gifted child experiences positive mental, social, and emotional growth. MCG assists in the overall effort of improving the understanding, education, and funding of the educational needs of gifted students in Moline School District No. 40 and provides information, encouragement, and networking to parents and educators of gifted and talented students.
Membership
You can purchase a membership to join the
Moline Council for the Gifted (MCG) for only $10. As a
member you will receive local newsletters, first notification
of Saturday Serendipity course offerings, a $5.00 registration
discount to Saturday Serendipity, and the satisfaction
of knowing you are contributing to the educational enrichment
of all gifted and talented students in Moline School District
No. 40. Memberships need to be renewed annually and run
from August 1 - July 31. If you would like to become a member
of the Moline Council for the Gifted, please fill out the
following form and send it along with a check for $10.00
