Academic Team – The MHS Academic Teams compete in Scholastic Bowl tournaments on Saturdays in Illinois from mid-October through March.

Weekly practices held for Varsity squad from 3:15 – 4:15 p.m. on Thursdays.

Weekly practices held for Frosh-Soph squad from 3:15 – 4:15 p.m. on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Art Club – Open to any student interested in art to have fun after school making art and crafts.

Meetings held every Tuesday from 3:10 – 4:15 p.m. in E114.

Authentic Voices – Open to female students only, this group provides a variety of activities that promote individual growth, confidence, goals, respect, problem solving and school/community involvement.

Meetings held twice a month as announced.

Book Club – Open to all students and faculty who would like to read, eat, and have fun discussing books that have been read by the group the previous month.

Meetings held the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the library during 4th period.

Chess Club – Open to anyone interested in playing chess and learning more about chess.

Meetings held every Tuesday from October through February from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. in J207.

Crime Stoppers - This club promotes school and community safety.  Members participate in the Homecoming parade, Crime Stoppers Run and various fundraising activities.

Meetings held the 3rd Thursday of the month after school in B152.

Democracy Club – This club's purpose is to discuss and increase awareness of current political issues.

Meetings usually held the last Thursday of each month in B318.

Drama Club/Thespians – Any student may join the Drama club that promotes dramatics at MHS, as well as in the community.  Students go to workshops, attend plays and other activities involving theater.  Thespians is an honor society for theater.  Points can be earned for induction by acting in shows, doing technical work, helping behind the scenes, and attending other productions.  The more points you earn, the more honors you receive.

FCA – This Fellowship of Christian Athletes group is student based and student led.  It works to spread the good news of the gospel to student athletes and others.

French Club - Open to students taking French to have fun, learn about the cultures of the French-speaking world, and do service projects for the school and community.

Meetings held every other week on Thursdays from 3:10 – 4:00 p.m.

German Club – This club meets once a month to continue the enjoyment of German language and culture with music, refreshments and fun activities.

Graphics/Photo Club – This club is open to all students interested in learning about and sharing in photography.

Meetings held the 1st Wednesday of the month after school in D132.

Harry Potter Club – This club is open to all students who love Harry Potter whether you have read the books or not.  Discuss the books, watch the movies and try your hand at Harry Potter trivia!

Meetings held every other Thursdays in the library.  Listen for the announcements!

Intramurals – Intramurals provide competition in sporting events for the entire student body throughout the school year, such as mini golf, sand volleyball, basketball, ping-pong, dodgeball, fishing.

Jazz Band – This musical group performs several concerts during the school year as well as at two contests.

Sponsor - Mr. Schwaegler (Band Room)

Rehearsals held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the Band Room.

Kaleidoscript – This is the MHS literary magazine which publishes student writing and all students can participate on the staff.  The Kaleidoscript sponsors the Band Jam Poetry Slam in February and sells the literary magazines and lollipops.

Meetings held on Tuesdays or Thursdays once or twice a month in B209.

Key Club – Open to any interested student, Key Club provides service to the school and community, provides leadership training, and promotes learning experiences outside of the classroom.  The major service/fundraising activity is the Student Hunger Drive.

Latinos Unidos – Latinos Unidos gives students interested in the Latino culture the opportunity to meet in a social setting.

Line O' Type newspaper – The school newspaper tries to print an issue each month and covers such stories as events, sports and issues that affect the students of Moline High School.

ÒMÓ yearbook – The ÒMÓ staff plan and create the yearbook for the school, capturing the many highlights and events that occur throughout the year.

Musical – This year the MHS annual musical will be ÒA Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the ForumÓ.  It is a farce in the vaudeville style, with a hysterical plot, fun costumes (togas), and audience interaction.  Join and be part of the fun!  Performances will be April 27, 28 & 29, 2006.

Natural Helpers – This is a group of around 120 students who stay actively involved as they learn listening and helping skills.  Students will be selected by a survey of the whole school in October.

Meetings held twice a month in J138.

Pep Band – The Pep Band performs at all home Boys' Basketball games and two selected Girls' Basketball games.

Rehearsals are Mondays from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. in November and December in the Band Room.

Play (Fall) – This year's Fall Play will be a comedy and drama about being a teenager in high school. It requires a large cast with many additional opportunities to work on stage crew, tech crew, or help out with other areas.  Auditions will be held in early September. 

Performance dates are October 28th and 29th, 2005.

Play (Winter) – This year's play is The Night of January 16th by Ayn Rand and will be performed February 3rd and 4th, 2006.  Auditions will be held before winter break so students can memorize their lines.  This is a fun opportunity for students with a dramatic flair.

QC Scholars – This club is open to all minority students and women students.  The goal of the group is to increase the pool of minority students who go to college, especially in business and engineering.  This organization helps students get ready for college.

R.O.C.K. – This club provides an opportunity for students to be leaders both at school, church, and in the community.  It provides a time to meet, pray, and discuss issues relevant to the school and individual students.

Science Club – The MHS Science Club provides extracurricular opportunities in science, and is a great way to meet other students interested in science.  Field trips and activities are scheduled all year long.

Sign Language Club – This club is set up to promote the use and understanding of basic sign language which is taught by students.

Meetings are held weekly from 3:15 – 4:00 p.m.  Listen for the announcements!

Ski Club – For ski/snowboard enthusiasts to get involved in a club which will allow them to go on trips (usually local) and get discounted rates (for groups).

First meeting will be in early December.

Spanish Club – This club provides an opportunity for students to participate in social, service, and leadership activities.

Meetings held the 2nd Thursday of each month in J326.

Speech/Debate – Speech Team members compete against students from other schools in our area in individual or group events.  This is a great activity for those who enjoy acting and those who wish to improve their speaking ability.  Debate Team members do a lot more than just argue.  They debate with teams from all over the country about an annual issue.

Student Leadership – This group organizes and promotes a variety of student activities, such as dances, blood drives, Share Joys, and any other school related events.

Teen Volunteers – Teen Volunteers provide opportunities for high school students to volunteer throughout the school year.

Upward Bound – This club provides academic assistance to first generation college bound students who come from modest to lower income families.  Students who think they fit this criteria must apply and be accepted into the program
