Homecoming 2011 |

Homecoming was a week of celebration October 3-8 commencing with the Coronation of King De Shawn Johnson and Queen Alexis Puebla, followed with the Homecoming Parade on Friday. The week culminated with the Moline Maroons winning the Homecoming game 46-32 over the United Township Panthers and a Homecoming Dance on Saturday evening at Wharton Field House. |

| John Deere Middle School Students' Day Of Caring | |
| On Wednesday, August 31, two John Deere Middle School teachers, Tara DeBlaey and Allison Glessner, and twenty John Deere Middle School students set up and ran a mobile food pantry at the Second Baptist Church in Rock Island. The group unloaded over 10,000 pounds of food and supplied much needed water on the sweltering day to volunteers and citizens. The students spent the day giving back to their community by distributing food to over 250 people in need. |

| New Landscape Feature Adorns Hamilton Elementary Walkway | |
On Wednesday, August 31, a dirt and mud corner became a beautiful memory garden for retired Hamilton teachers. Volunteers from the United Way, along with donations from Heritage Landscape, made this possible. The volunteers also shared lunch with the students, joined them at recess and presented each Kindergarten and 1st Grade student with a new book from the United Way Imagination Library. Hamilton School appreciates this Day of Caring event that brought so much enjoyment to the students and staff. |
