Welcome to Washington Elementary School!

Washington School is committed to educating the whole child. In addition to our high academic instruction, our staff ensures that students develop the social skills necessary to be successful at school and in the future. The Washington staff is dedicated to continuous improvement while providing a culture that is inviting and safe for our school community. The collection and analysis of student data, the knowledge and implementation of research-based teaching strategies, and the development of classroom communities are measures Washington teachers are taking to ensure a quality education. Our students are encouraged to develop individual goals along with district, school, and classroom achievement goals.
Washington continues its longtime educational programs and partnerships.  Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Faith Lutheran Church (The Literacy Connection), Christian Friendliness (after school tutoring) and Black Hawk College maintain their educational ties with Washington. These partners have provided Washington students with many educational benefits including tutoring and Family Literacy classes. In addition to our community programs, the district’s first through third grade Program for Academically Talented Students (PATS) is a part of our school community.
On behalf of the Washington community, I welcome your thoughts or questions. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to partner with our school community, please phone.
