Advisors: Mrs. Julie Dailey and Mrs. Jane Leggett
Publications: The newspaper is published 4 times per year----October, December, March and June.
Tryouts: In September, interested 7th and 8th grade students will apply to be on the newspaper staff. Applicants are expected to submit a sample of their writing with their application. Students interested in specialty positions (photographers, computer layout specialists, and artists) will have additional application information to submit. Student artists will need to submit examples of their work.
Positions Available: All newspaper staff members will be reporters. A few other positions will be available: artists, photographers and layout specialists. Eighth graders, who worked on the Paw Print last year, will be considered for positions such as: Editor-in-Chief and Page Editors.
Time Commitment: The newspaper staff meets after school every Tuesday from 3-3:45 p.m. Close to deadline, additional meetings might be necessary. Photographers will have to schedule extra time to take and process photos taken with the school's digital cameras. Layout specialists can expect an additional time commitment to layout the articles, photographs and artwork before an upcoming edition goes to press. This can be scheduled before or after school. All layout work is done on the computer.
