The Moline-Coal Valley School District invites the community to an informal open house to honor retiring Superintendent Lanty McGuire on Thursday, May 30, from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. The open house will be held in the lobby of the Bartlett Performing Arts Center at Moline High School, 3600 Avenue of the Cities.
McGuire has served the Moline-Coal Valley School District for 24 years as an administrator and educator. He was appointed to serve as Interim Superintendent in 2015, and later named as Superintendent in 2017. McGuire previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for seven years, and was Assistant Superintendent of Pupil/Personnel Services and Special Education for eight years prior to that. McGuire also taught special education at Moline High School from 1990 – 1995. Prior to joining the Moline School District, McGuire taught and served as a Dean in the Rock Island-Milan School District for ten years.
The District invites the public to stop in and say thank you to Lanty McGuire for the years of service and leadership he has provided to the community.
McGuire will be succeeded by Dr. Rachel Savage who begins with the Moline-Coal Valley School District on July 1, 2019.
