Employee COVID Sick Leave Recovery

Pursuant to Sections 10-20.83 and 24-6 of the School Code, you may be eligible for paid administrative leave days, and/or restoration of sick leave days or lost pay if you are “fully vaccinated against COVID-19” (having received both doses of a 2-dose COVID vaccine series or one dose of a single dose COVID vaccine).  If you have not submitted proof of vaccination, and you are requesting restoration of leave, please provide the Human Resources Office with a copy of your vaccination card. 

Eligibility is based on the following COVID related absences during the 2021-2022 school year:

You were/are restricted from being on school district property because you had/have:

  • a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis from a PCR test (or other molecular amplification diagnostic test).

  • a probable COVID-19 diagnosis via an antigen diagnostic test.

  • been in close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 and is required to be excluded from the district, or

  • been required by school district policy to be excluded from school district property due to COVID-19 symptoms or another reason above

To care for your child, who is/was unable to attend elementary or secondary school (Pre-K-12), because of:

  • a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis from a PCR test (or other molecular amplification diagnostic test).

  • a probable COVID-19 diagnosis via an antigen diagnostic test.

  • close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 and is required to be excluded from the school, or

  • required by school district policy to be excluded from school district property due to COVID-19 symptoms or another reason above

Please note that for absences prior to April 5th, 2022 all requests for returned leave must be submitted through the Employee COVID Sick Leave Recovery Form no later than Friday, June 3rd.  Employees that resigned prior to April 5th, 2022 are NOT eligible.
