Over the past couple of weeks, our District has been busy working on preparing a Remote Learning Environment for our teachers to share learning activities for our students. We are preparing to release those activities through Learning Hubs on Monday, April 6th. We will be communicating with everyone on how to access our Bicentennial Hub once it is live. It is important that moving forward all Parents and Students are using Classdojo, Google Classroom, or checking their email to communicate with Bicentennial Teachers. All activities will be released to you and your children via the learning hub. Guidelines have been prepared for them and I want to reassure you, the intent is not to overwhelm you with “busy” work. The intent is to move our students forward with purposeful engagement and activities that keep them interactive with instructional objectives based on State Standards. We are following the State of Illinois recommended guidelines for daily minutes. These guidelines suggest that remote learning activities should encompass between 30 – 120 minutes daily, depending upon your child’s grade-level. Our teachers will provide recommended minutes for each activity. Remote learning activities will be scheduled for every day that we are scheduled to be in school. We understand that you may have multiple students and some of you are also trying to work from home. Please be patient as we navigate through these difficult times together. I would love to post pictures and videos of Bicentennial Students engaged in e-learning activities. Please feel free to email me or our teacher’s pictures and or video of Bicentennial students!
As far as student materials are concerned, if your child has left something at school that is considered essential; glasses, medicine, 5th-grade ChromeBook. Please email me and you can make an appointment to pick those up.
