Message from Mr. Ferguson

Welcome to Logan Elementary School, home of the Leopards!  Centrally located in a residential area of Moline, we are a true neighborhood school serving the surrounding students and families.

As Principal I am extremely proud of and impressed by the efforts put forth by the students, staff, and families that contribute to our building’s success.  Supported by parents, grandparents, caregivers, and dedicated volunteers this building has an established reputation for success and is a special place to develop and learn.

Our mission at Logan Elementary is to have our staff and students work together to improve academics and behaviors in order to prepare us for a successful future and become contributing citizens in our society.

Academically our building utilizes a variety of instructional methods and programs to best meet the needs of our student population.  We are in our third year of using Total School Cluster Grouping, a research-based strategy that builds on the specific ability levels of students, and has boosted our MAP test scores above those of non-cluster grouped schools.  Our staff is made up of dedicated individuals who are lifelong learners and committed to the success of our student population.

Beyond our outstanding academic programs Logan offers many opportunities outside the classroom to engage children and families.  Speed stacking, The 16th Ave Singers choral group, Spelling Bee, Boy and Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement, Family Nights, and our Logan Carnival are a few of the many ways that our building brings people together to build community and pride.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to the school with any positive comments, questions, or concerns.  The success of your child is a point of pride and priority for us.  Our dedicated staff is driven by the successful relationships that Logan Elementary has with its families and the Moline community.

We are grateful for your support and encouragement and look forward to the years of success ahead!

Tom Ferguson
