MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIM TEAM - Any 6th, 7th or 8th-grade boy or girl interested in participating on the Moline Middle School Swim Team should attend an informational meeting in the cafeteria right after school TODAY, Thursday, February 21st.  There are no cuts, and everyone participates in all of the meets. There are also informational handouts available in the office or Mr. Johnson’s room (C109).

 

 

CULINARY CLUB: The 7th-grade Culinary Club will meet TOMORROW, Friday, February 22nd from 3:20-4:20 p.m. The 6th Grade Culinary Club will also meet TOMORROW from 4:20-5:20 p.m. Any questions, see Mrs. Smice.

 

 

 

 
ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS TOURNAMENT: On Friday, March 1st, there will be a Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament in the gym after school. The cost will be $1.00 per person and teams of 5 are encouraged to participate. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Teams interested in participating need to sign up for this fun event with Mr. Perkins (A134). There will be trophies for the 1st- and 2nd-Place teams as well as a trophy for the captain of the winning team. Come on out and enjoy the fun!
 
 
STUDENT CONGRESS: We will be meeting after school on Thursday, February 28th after school, to make posters for the Spring Fling dance. Please meet in Mrs. Walters’ room! Plan to stay about a half hour. Ticket for this event will be sold beginning March 4th.
 
 
IAR (formerly PARCC) TESTING: The Illinois Assessment of Readiness will begin on Monday, March 4th. ALL students are expected to be prepared by bringing their fully-charged Chromebook to school and to also bring their own headphones or earbuds and a mouse from home for the 2-week testing period. If you do not have your own, please inform your ELA and math teachers so they can be prepared as well.

  

 

 
MOLINE PUBLIC LIBRARY VIDEO CONTEST: Create a 3 to 5-minute video and enter it in the library contest for your chance to win $100. Entries are due February 27th, and entry forms are available at the Moline Public Library.

8th GRADE CLASS SURVEY: 8th graders are invited to go to the Daily Bulletin on the Wilson Website to have access to three links for this year’s class survey. One is to identify memorable 8th-grade girls. The second is for choosing 8th-grade boys who stand out. And the third is for information requested by Mrs. McKee for events during this second semester including the Class Day Talent Show and end-of-the-year activities.  

You must be prepared to complete each survey in its entirety (approximately 10-15 minutes). You only have a couple more days to complete all three sections of the survey.

The cost will be $1.00 per person and teams of 4 are encouraged to participate. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Teams interested in participating need to go and see Mr. Perkins to sign up for this fun event. We will have a limit of 8 teams

MOLINE PUBLIC LIBRARY MOVIE-MAKING WORKSHOP: Students in grades 4-8 can learn to make movies and create a book trailer. This workshop will take place TONIGHT, Thursday, February 7th starting at 6:00 p.m. Space is limited and registration is required.

 

MOLINE PUBLIC LIBRARY VIDEO CONTEST: Quad City area libraries are holding a video contest for teens. Create a 3 to 5-minute movie for your chance to win $100. Entries are due February 27th, and entry forms are available at the Moline Public Library.
