IAR TESTING(DAY 6 OF 6): TODAY is the LAST day of IAR Testing. We will be running the Periods 5 through 8 block schedule. Please be respectful by being ABSOLUTELY quiet in the hallways ESPECIALLY on your way to and from lunch.
 
 
YEARBOOK STAFF: We will NOT meet TODAY, Monday, March 18th. Work on the publication will resume TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 19th and continue each night this week until 6 p.m. (maybe later than that) until the book is done. Mrs. McKee and Ms. Johnson desperately need you to come in and work!
 
 
 
CODING/SPHEROS: We will meet TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 20th from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. You will need to go to Study Table from 2:20 to 3:20 p.m. before coming to the lab.
 
GSA: We will take our yearbook photo immediately after school on Thursday, March 21st in Mrs. Denys room. Following the picture, we will have our meeting as scheduled.
 
 
 
HELP DESK APPLICATIONS: Do you want to join the Help Desk? All 6th- and 7th-graders interesting in being a part of next year’s Help Desk team need to complete the online application. Go to the Help Desk Link on the Wilson Website and submit an application by Friday, March 22nd.
 
6TH GRADE CULINARY ARTS CLUB: You will meet THIS Friday, March 22nd from 4:20-5:20 p.m. Please plan on attending.
 
 
7th GRADE BETHANY PROGRAM: For those 7th graders that have been attending the Bethany program, this is a reminder that your next session is Monday, April 1st, the day we return to school after Spring Break! Please mark your calendars and remember to attend!
 
YMCA ROWING:  With 8 national champions last year, this program is nationally and internationally known. The YMCA is holding an open house at the Bass Street YMCA & Sylvan Boathouse, on Friday, March 22nd, from 4-7 p.m. They are looking for interested middle school and high school kids to join their team. Flyers are available at the main office or in Mr. Johnson’s room.

TRACK & FIELD: Rosters for those who made the Girls Track & Field teams are posted right outside the main office. Please check to see if your name is there. There will be an informational meeting for parents in the cafeteria at 5:15 p.m. after practice TODAY, Monday, March 18th.
 
 
 
BOYS TENNIS: Practices begin TODAY, Monday, March 18th. You must have an updated physical and your athletic fee paid before you participate.

DRAMA CLUB: We will be going to Quad City Music Guild TONIGHT, Monday, March 18th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This field trip will include a tour, a talk with the directing staff, and the viewing of a rehearsal. We will also be purchasing tickets for any Drama Club member who wants to see the show. See Mrs. Erb or Mr. Ryser for details! Don’t miss out on this great field trip!
 
GSA: We will take our yearbook photo immediately after school on Thursday, March 21st in Mrs. Denys room. Following the picture, we will have our meeting as scheduled.

MOLINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISSECTION CLASS: Students can learn about animal biology and dissect a fetal pig at the Moline Public Library TODAY, Monday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. Space is limited and registration is required.
 
YMCA ROWING:  With 8 national champions last year, this program is nationally and internationally known. The YMCA is holding an open house at the Bass Street YMCA & Sylvan Boathouse, on Friday, March 22nd, from 4-7 p.m. They are looking for interested middle school and high school kids to join their team. We want everyone to be able to do their very best on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness!! In addition, ALL students will need to check with their Period 7 teacher BEFORE going to lunch as the lunch schedule has changed.

Do you have a computer mouse that will work with your Chromebook? Bring them to school on Monday. If you do not have your own, please inform your ELA and math teachers so they can have some on hand for you to borrow.

INTRODUCE A GIRL TO ENGINEERING: The Society of Women Engineers is sponsoring this year’s “Introduce a Girls to Engineering” Day to encourage 8th-grade girls to consider engineering as a potential career. If you are interested in this field trip opportunity, please pick up information from Mrs. McKee and return the permission forms ASAP. Due to the unprecedented interest, the 20 spots we have to fill are going quickly, but Mrs. McKee is asking organizers to allow us to bring more. Any open slots will be filled on a first come-first served basis taking into consideration good academic and behavior standing and the final due date is Friday, March 15th.

 

 

LIGHTS ON FOR LEARNING: If she hasn’t taken your Lights on for Learning Club picture yet, Mrs. McKee will meet you at your normal meeting time and place to take your group photo for the yearbook.

 

 
 
CRIMESTOPPERS: There will be a meeting of Wilson CrimeStoppers immediately after school (2:04 p.m.) TODAY, Wednesday, March 6th in Mrs. Denys’ room (C204). Your yearbook photo will be taken at this meeting. If you have any questions, contact Detective Victor.

 

 

 

STEAM DRAMA CLUB: The Drama Club will have its group photo taken at the BEGINNING of your club meeting TODAY, Wednesday, March 6th.
SWIMMING: The Swim Team will have their team picture taken prior to TODAY's meet. Please arrive at the MHS Pool at 3:30 p.m.  Mrs. McKee will meet you there to take your group photo.

SWIMMING: The Swim Team will have their team picture taken prior to TOMORROW's meet. Please arrive at the MHS Pool at 3:30 p.m.  Mrs. McKee will meet you there to take your group photo.

YEARBOOK STAFF: We are certainly running out of time to complete the book, so ALL members of the staff need to attend the layout sessions scheduled for next week. We will take our staff picture next Monday, May 11th, and we will meet EVERY afternoon until 6 p.m. to work on the publication If you cannot attend, please contact Mrs. McKee immediately!
 
IAR (formerly PARCC) TESTING: The Illinois Assessment of Readiness will begin next Monday, March 11th. ALL students are expected to be prepared by bringing their fully-charged Chromebook to school and to also bring their own headphones or earbuds and a mouse from home for the 2-week testing period. If you do not have your own, please inform your ELA and math teachers so they can be prepared as well.
 
BOYS TENNIS: Any 7th or 8th-grade boy interested in going out for tennis this spring will need to attend a mandatory meeting right after school next Monday, March 11th, in Mr. Johnson’s room (C109). Practices will begin Monday, March 18th. You must have an updated physical and your athletic fee paid before you participate.

LIGHTS ON FOR LEARNING: If she hasn’t taken your Lights on for Learning Club picture yet, Mrs. McKee will meet you at your normal meeting time and place to take your group photo for the yearbook.

BOTH 8th-grade ART CLUBS will meet in the auditorium lobby IMMEDIATELY after school TODAY, Monday, March 4th for a combined picture for the yearbook.

ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS TOURNAMENT: There will be a Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament in the gym after school TODAY, Friday, March 1st. The cost will be $1.00 per person and teams of 5 are encouraged to participate. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Teams interested in participating need to sign up for this fun event with Mr. Perkins (A134). There will be trophies for the 1st- and 2nd-Place teams as well as a trophy for the captain of the winning team. Come on out and enjoy the fun!
