About Us

Moline-Coal Valley School District is the largest school district in Northwest Illinois and the 26th largest unit district in the State of Illinois. The district serves the educational needs of 7,302 students and is home to 15 schools serving grades Pre-K-12.  We also offer special education services, English language services, and the region’s only Dual Language Academy. In this program, students learn to read, write, speak, and listen in two languages, English and Spanish. The district has a diverse population, with over 60 different languages spoken by our students.  Moline-Coal Valley has a 91% student graduation rate, 94% student attendance rate, and a 21:1 student to teacher ratio.

The new Hamilton Elementary and renovated Franklin Elementary are state-of-the-art 21st-century schools, featuring flexible, collaborative learning spaces; classrooms with glass garage or accordion doors; media center; discovery lab, and a learning stair (Hamilton).

The new Bartlett Performing Arts Center at MHS supports fine opportunities for students while benefiting the entire region as an education and entertainment venue. The new athletic facility at MHS will give students a centralized location to further their education for life-long health and well-being while providing an array of opportunities to explore athletics in a safe and secure environment.
