About Us

Moline-Coal Valley School District is the largest school district in Northwest Illinois and the 26th largest unit district in the State of Illinois. It reflects a rich heritage and evolving community, serving a diverse student population with a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The district specifically serves the educational needs of approximately 7,300 students and is home to 15 schools serving grades Pre-K-12. We also offer special education services, English language services, and the region’s only Dual Language Academy. In this program, students learn to read, write, speak, and listen in two languages, English and Spanish. The district has a diverse population, with over 60 different languages spoken by our students. Moline-Coal Valley has competitive student attendance rates; graduation rates, student-to-teacher ratios, and teacher and staff longevity.
