A school wins the Quad-City Times Best of the Quad Cities "Best High School" award by generating the highest volume of public votes during the contest's voting period. Nominations are typically collected in early summer, followed by a final voting phase where the community casts daily votes online. During the initial weeks of the contest, the community nominates their favorite schools. The five high schools that receive the most nominations move on to the official voting ballot. Community members are allowed to vote once every 24 hours per email address. The school with the most verified votes at the end of the voting period is named the overall winner.

The National History Club, Inc. (NHC) honors high school and middle school history clubs with the “National History Club of the Year” award. Moline was one of five chapters out of 500 in the United States to receive this honor for 2025-2026. This is the third time the club has received the award, having earned it in 2022-2023 and 2018-2019, the same year as the club’s inception. The NHC Section Committee referenced the Moline History Club’s range and depth of activities as one reason for the honor.

RAMP designation stands for Recognized ASCA Model Program. RAMP is a prestigious designation for the whole school for its implementation of a counseling program. To earn this status, a school must document its counseling program for a year and provide data demonstrating that the program benefits all students at the school. It means the school counseling program is following a research-based model, uses best practices, and is data-driven.
Hamilton Elementary was one of five schools from Illinois that received the RAMP status in 2021. The designation is valid for five years, after which schools must reapply to Re-RAMP. In 2026, Hamilton once again earned the designation. Hamilton is one of two schools in Illinois to earn the Re-RAMP status.

Historic Preservation Award From The Moline Preservation Society

In 1999, the Moline Preservation Society awarded the Board of Education with a historic preservation award for Wharton Field House. Annually, the Society recognizes exceptional efforts by property owners to restore, preserve, or maintain properties over fifty years old, as well as individuals who have demonstrated exceptional efforts to promote historic preservation. The Moline Board of Education was recognized for its outstanding Stewardship over 71 years of this historic Moline structure. Wharton Field House will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the 2027-2028 school year.
