District Calendars

The State of Illinois requires the calendar to include 185 days with a minimum of 176 days of actual student attendance.  

Definition of Calendar Terms:
Institute Days These workdays are designed to help teachers collaborate with colleagues on various topics in order to improve the classroom experience for students. This may include curriculum discussions, sharing teaching methods, and viewing guest speakers. 

Non-Attendance Days – School is not in session these days.  

Emergency Days – The state requires that five Emergency Days be included in the calendar at the end of the school year. These days serve as make-up days to be used if the weather or other emergency prevents students from being in school the required 176 days.
